Yay for updates!

Yes, we are still alive.  And yes, this is torture for me having to blog but for future sake-- I will be happy I did!

First off, I wanted to write about this because it made me such a happy and proud mom! I put Ruby in swim lessons this summer and SHE LOVED IT!  Every morning she would ask to put her swimming suit on and go swimming.  Leah and Demi rocked and now I have a little fish!
1st day of swim lessons!
She makes my heart melt

So, since my last post-- we now have TWO kids!  Eek!  Yep, Little Blake Brian Ellerman joined our happy family August 6th, 2012.  Born at 12:30 a.m., weighing 7 pounds 10 ounces and 20 inches long.
Oh wow, Im enormous! That body was done being pregnant!

Notice Brian is a little pale in the face-- Thats because he was in the chair about to throw up!  Thats right, He didnt get to see his 1st son being born because he almost passed out! I laugh now, but it wasnt funny then!

Ruby is awesome as an older sister, but not so much a daughter! :) I say that with pure love for her!  She definitely is a little stinker!  But her funny dance moves and the faces she makes and sweet kisses she gives makes up for her rottenness (a word?)!

She unwrapped all the pieces of gum, folded them up and then told me she made a snake.
Blake rocks.  He's such a happy little guy and loves life.  He started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks and is going strong!  He loves sitting up and seeing the world, his bath, and most of the time his sister.  What a perfect addition to our family he is!
His blessing day

So now, Brian and I have our two little kids and we couldn't be happier!  A lot of the times, we sit and giggle at the silly things Ruby says or does, or make our grossed out faces at eachother when Blake is letting em rip!  Life is wild and crazy and I'm just starting to get the hang of having more than one kid to take care of!  I love it and I wouldn't trade being a mom for anything in the world!

My baby is 2!

Our Ruby is Two years old and I can't believe it!  It seems like yesterday we were trying to figure out what to do with this baby we just brought home!  She is the sweetest, naughtiest, happiest, stinkiest, wildest little girl I know!  She entertains us all day long with her funny lisp, hopping all over the place, silly faces, and biggest hugs and kisses!

We celebrated her birthday in our backyard with all the cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandma's and grandpa's.  We rented a big jumping castle that all the kids loved and had BBQ Sandwiches, pasta salad, potatoes, chips and sodas.  We had cupcakes and yummy homemade ice cream. She had a cake I tempted to make and failed miserably... It looked like Ruby made it herself. :)  Its okay, at least I know it wasn't cute!  Anyways, it was a wild and crazy evening but a fun fun birthday party!  She was opening her presents and running around at the same time so the kids were chasing her around trying to help her open presents, so that was absolutely out of control... I don't have a clue who gave what to her!  So, thank you to all those aunts that gave her presents... She loves them all! :)

Best birthday present ever!  She talks about her Mopi all the time and gives it a hug and kiss before she goes to sleep everynight!

Ruby Ann is our pride and joy!  Life would be dull without her around.  She loves life and is a happy little girl!  Her favorite phrases to say are "Aww Man", "Dont want it", "Shoo Bee", "Aww Cute", "No no puppy".  She knows all of her body parts and knows what cows, kitty cats, dogs, monkeys, horses, and goats say.  I ask her what color something is and she says either purple or green every time.  She loves puzzles, real and fake babies, her Mopi, going bye bye, coming home, putting money in her piggy bank, her blanket, and pacifier (I know), Elmo, her dog, blowing her nose, jumping on the trampoline, 4-wheelers, and popsicles.  She eats and sleeps great and always takes a good nap.  She loves nursery and I was told last week that she is the flirt in nursery.  She loves to go potty on the toilet and when shes not wearing a diaper she thinks she needs to go potty every 30 seconds.  She loves to sing songs and alot of the time I hear her singing while she's playing by herself... The other day I was in doing my hair and she asked me to help her get up on my bed.  I told her she could do it by herself and once she got up, she sang "help me, help me, help me, help"  in the twinkle twinkle little star tune.  Every morning I go to get her out of her crib, I open the door and she instantly says in her high sweet voice "Hi Mommy"... It makes me smile!  We are best little friends and I wouldn't have life any other way! Happy 2nd Birthday Ruby!

Our life lately...

Life is good at the Ellerman home!  Not a whole lot of things going on, but it's good!  Ruby keeps us entertained (especially me) all day long.  She'll be 21 months the end of this month and I can't believe it!  She jabbers non-stop and has to be doing something AT ALL TIMES.  She's a very busy girl!  She loves showing off and when she thinks she's doing something tricky she yells "mom" as loud as she can to get my attention... even if its stepping on a book or putting a leg in the air.  She still says "hi" to everyone we come in contact with and often gives them a hug if they give her the attention she wants.  It use to be cute but now its just frustrating.  We added a cute Golden Retriever to our family and Ruby is OBSESSED with him!  Every morning she demands she goes outside to hug him.  He is an amazing dog, I've never seen a better dog with kids, so I think he's a keeper!

She built this tower of toilet paper all by herself, I was pretty impressed!
If you look close, there's a tiny pink tea cup in her hand and kept filling it up and sipping it! Silly girl!

Family Vacation 2011

Our first official family vacation-- Success

Brian, Ruby and I all hopped on a plane and flew to San Diego (Silly you might think, but driving in a car with Ruby for 8 hours does NOT sound like a vacation to me!).  Just us 3.  And it was a blast!
We got to San Diego and headed straight to the beach but ended up putting on our sweatshirts and walking around to all the fun shops.    We checked in to our hotel later that day and went back out to grab a bite to eat and go to the S.D. Temple...  Good day!

The next day we got up and ate breakfast at Ihop and spent all day at Sea World.  It was probably more fun for Brian and I than it was for Ruby... all she wanted to do was either hold the animals or run around everywhere and she didn't get to do either.

Then the next day we got up and ate breakfast and went to the San Diego Zoo.  We'll probably never do that again... First off, the Zoo is stinkin huge and we got a work out walking up and down these huge hills.  Second, None of the animals were out... if there was an animal, it was behind a tree or everyone was huddled around it so you couldn't even see.  San Diego Zoo-- Overrated!  But we still had a fun time and we know what NOT to do next time we go to San Diego!  So, we left the Zoo around 3 and drove over to Coronado Island while Ruby slept.  Brian and I picked our favorite houses and decided we wouldn't mind living there.  Super cute town!  Later, we went  to the Mormon Battalion in Old Town.  That was really really cool and I highly recommend it to everyone!

Next day, we drove thinking to Ocean Beach but the GPS took us to Mission Beach... Lots of fun stores and shops so we hung out there for a while and looked at more fun houses (one of our weird hobbies, obviously).  Then, we took our little rental car back and headed to the airport!  When Ruby got home, we could tell that she would just much rather stay home!  She dragged every toy out and kept running around the house!
I loved our vacation!  It was a perfect three day time away from everything!

So a few weeks ago my great sister in law took some family pictures for us.  Thanks Sarah!
